Selection and conservation activities started in the Regional Historical Museum of Gabrovo. First the project team examined collections of rare and valuable books and manuscripts, kept in the collections of the museum and prepared an inventory of the publications provided for digitization. After this was done a conservation of these funds. The Conservation of funds includes examining the current condition of the collections, cleaning, deworming and selection of binding, if necessary. This activity precedes the process of digitization and is necessary to avoid contamination of other cultural values.
